Case/Incident #22-36752

Kirkland, WA – Kirkland Police Department (KPD) investigators identified individuals believed to be responsible for burglarizing a home and firing shots at the homeowner on October 9, 2022, in south Kirkland. The identifying information helped a coordinated law enforcement effort that led to the arrest of three people connected to multiple crimes across King County, including carjackings, kidnapping and armed robberies.

Following the incident in Kirkland last fall, surveillance video obtained from neighbors showed three people got out of an SUV and headed toward the victims’ home just before a 911 call was made. The homeowners woke up at the sound of intruders and attempted to chase them out of the house. As the suspects ran out of the house, one turned and fired a round at the homeowner. The suspects fired three more rounds outside of the home, then drove away in the SUV. The homeowners were not hurt.

Shell casings from the Kirkland crime scene were forensically linked to an assault with a firearm case out of Seattle. Kirkland detectives worked with agency partners and police investigators throughout the region to help identify the suspects. Through teamwork between multiple agencies, police were able to implicate the robbery crew in several crimes in cities including Auburn, Bellevue, Burien, Kirkland, Redmond and Seattle.

Following the suspects arrests, KPD will be forwarding felony charges to the King County Prosecutor for the suspects’ involvement in the Kirkland armed burglary and shooting. Investigators believe this incident was random and do not believe the victims were intentionally targeted in the Kirkland crime.
