KIRKLAND, Wash. – The City of Kirkland strongly encourages those who seek to have a voice in City decisions and make a positive difference in the community to apply to a City advisory board by February 16, 2023.

City advisory boards and commissions are responsible for formulating new ideas, gathering information, receiving public comments, analyzing complex issues, and making recommendations for specific projects and policies to the City Council.

“Serving on a board or commission is a chance for community members to advise the City Council on what they believe is best for our community when it comes to civil service, parks, tourism and much more.” said Kirkland Deputy Mayor Jay Arnold. “We want perspectives that reflect Kirkland’s ever-changing diversity, so we warmly welcome applicants of all backgrounds. Serving on a board or commission can be a rewarding experience, and all voices are important.”

Kirkland community members who meet eligibility requirements are invited to submit an application to the City Clerk by 4 p.m. on Thursday, February 16, 2023. Eligibility requirements differ for each board or commission. Visit the Current Recruitment Positions page or call the City Clerk’s Office at 425-587-3190 to learn more and apply.
