Whole Foods, MOD pizza, Chipotle and other retail outlets destined for The Village at Totem Lake’s lower mall will open to customers in 2018, says CenterCal’s vice president of marketing. Michaela Marraffino says MOD and Chipotle will open this spring and Whole Foods will open in the fall. CenterCal, the Los Angeles County-based developer, is currently working with the City of Kirkland and its prospective tenants on a variety of design issues, such as signage and interior improvements.

Trader Joes and Nordstrom Rack, meanwhile, continue to serve thousands of customers every day, after celebrating their October 2017 grand openings in Building B.
Buildings A and B of the lower mall feature more than 88,000 square feet of retail and residential space, with Ross anchoring the lower mall’s seven-story Building B and Whole Foods anchoring the one-story Building A. When complete in late 2019, Building C will offer three stories and 49,000 square-feet of retail space and three stories and 201 residential units.

The Village at Totem Lake includes 10 buildings. The biggest is the building known previously as the ‘upper mall.’ In it, CenterCal is creating space for a movie theatre, a public plaza, restaurants, retail and high-end residential. CenterCal will begin renovating the upper mall in 2019 and expects to complete the entire development by 2021. CenterCal’s proposal for the upper mall redevelopment passed design review in summer 2017.
