Marina Park beach reopens

KIRKLAND, Wash. – Multiple water tests in Lake Washington at Marina Park beach over the past two days by the Seattle-King County Public Health Department have demonstrated that the water is once again safe and swimming advisory signs have been removed.

Marina Park beach, located at 25 Lakeshore Plaza, was closed to swimming one week ago after testing revealed high levels of Fecal Coliform Bacteria in the lake. Triplicate sampling on both Wednesday and Thursday of this week indicated that the level of the bacteria had dropped significantly and county health officials deemed water conditions safe for humans and animals.

The cause of the higher than normal bacteria levels is still being investigated.
