Two Teenagers Injured When Struck by Vehicle in Kirkland

KIRKLAND, Wash. – Just after 10:00 p.m. on the evening of July 5, 2018, Kirkland Police responded to the 5900 block of Lake Washington Boulevard on a report of a vehicle striking two pedestrians.  Officers arrived and found a female teenager and a male teenager had been struck by a passenger car which was headed northbound on Lake Washington Boulevard.  The two teens were crossing westbound in or near the crosswalk at NE 59th St when they were hit.  The female was alert and was transported to Overlake Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.  The male was transported to Harborview Hospital with a possible head injury. The adult driver has been cooperative with the investigation, and alcohol is not believed to be a factor in the incident at this time.  The Kirkland Police Traffic Unit is conducting the investigation into the collision.  There were several witnesses to the incident, and the investigation is ongoing at this time.
