Traffic Alert: Hopelink Turkey Trot 5k on Sunday, November 19

KIRKLAND, Wash. – Commuters should expect traffic delays due to the annual Hopelink Turkey Trot 5k to be held at Marina Park on Sunday, November 19. A course map is posted online at

The Lakeshore Plaza Parking Lot, including Kirkland Avenue from Lake Street to the City dock, will be closed to vehicles from 6 a.m. until noon. Parking will also be restricted along Lake Street and Lake Washington Boulevard between Kirkland Avenue and Lakeview Drive from 6 a.m. until noon. 

Detours will be in place from 9:50 a.m. until approximately 11:30 a.m. at these intersections:

  • Southbound Lake Street at Kirkland Avenue
  • Northbound Lake Washington Boulevard at Lakeview Drive

Drivers should use side streets to access Lake Street and Lake Washington Boulevard. 

The Hopelink hosted event draws 1,500 participants each year and raises money to provide assistance to low-income families in east and north King County.
