Kirkland, WA – On March 2, 2018, the Kirkland Police and Kirkland Fire Department responded to the 11200 block of NE 68th Street on a report of a woman in the roadway, trapped under a vehicle.

First responders arrived to find a 78-year-old woman trapped under an SUV and quickly took steps to extricate her from under the vehicle to render aid. The woman was transported to Harborview Medical Center with life threatening injuries.

Witnesses informed the police that the woman was walking south across NE 68th Street near the intersection of NE 68th Street and 112th Avenue NE. The SUV was turning west from 112th Avenue NE onto NE 68th Street, and struck the woman as she attempted to cross the roadway, trapping her underneath the vehicle.
