KIRKLAND, Wash – Opportunity is knocking this weekend for young people looking for jobs, internships and volunteer options in Kirkland. On Saturday, March 25, an Opportunity Fair, hosted by the Kirkland Youth Council, will be held at Lake Washington High School (12033 N.E. 80th St., Kirkland, WA 98033) from noon to 3 p.m. in the school commons. Attendees will be introduced to local Kirkland businesses and nonprofits who are interested in helping young people succeed.

“Many teens are in search of these opportunities to help them get into college and gain real world job experience,” said Alex Bartoletti a member of the Kirkland Youth Council. “Our Youth Council wants to create connections that will benefit both the young people and Kirkland employers so that everybody wins.”

Some of the businesses who have committed to the event include Arena Sports, Columbia Athletic Club, Kidd Valley, Pump it Up, and the City of Kirkland. There will also be many booths offering volunteer positions including the City of Kirkland, Homeward Pet, and Seattle Humane Society.
