Kirkland Police Make Arrests in Theft Ring

Suspects likely victimized hundreds of area residents

Kirkland, WA -- On December 28, 2017 at approximately 7:15 a.m. the Kirkland Police arrested five adults during a warrant service near the 12200 blk NE 147th Place in Kirkland, WA. Investigators believe the arrested suspects are part of a theft ring tied to hundreds of victims in Kirkland and surrounding cities.

Over the past couple months, Kirkland Police have been investigating several cases in the area to include reports of mail theft, identity theft, vehicle theft and prowling, narcotics use and counterfeiting in the region. The suspects identified in a couple of these investigations were tied to an apartment located in the Kingsgate area of Kirkland. Kirkland Detectives obtained a search warrant for the unit.

During the search of the suspects' apartment, Kirkland Detectives located several items of stolen mail, stolen electronics, stolen license plates, stolen IDs, forged checks, counterfeit currency, counterfeiting equipment, drugs and paraphernalia. At least five arrests have been made stemming from this investigation, with more to possibly follow.

Kirkland Police are still investigating the theft ring, and will be reaching out to victims to return stolen documents, electronics and recovered mail.
