Kirkland City Council voted last night to narrow the list of 26 applicants for Council position 2 to five candidates including:
A special meeting of the Council will be held between now and January 17 to interview the candidates. It is the intent of the Council to appoint the new Councilmember to fill Position 2 at that special meeting, but if circumstances dictate, the appointment may be made at a later meeting.
Councilmember Shelley Kloba submitted her resignation letter at the December 13 Council Special Meeting due to her election as State Representative for Legislative District 1. Her resignation is effective December 31, 2016.
