Love plants? Join the Green Kirkland Partnership for a potting party at McAuliffe Park's native plant party. We have many bare root plants to pot up in preparation of our fall 2020 planting events.
Register to volunteer on the volunteer event registration page. Only 8 spaces available.
What to expect:
Green Kirkland Stewards will give you training on putting up bare root plants. You'll be handling soil and live plants in a sensitive state so care is needed with this rewarding task.
What to bring:
* Closed Toed Shoes Required (ex: tennis shoes, sneakers or boots but no sandals)
* Clothes that can get dirty
* Raingear, Warm Layers, Long Pants/Long Sleeves, Full water bottle & Snacks
* Tools, training and gloves are provided
Where to meet:
The park entrance is located in 108th Ave NE, a short distance from the intersection with NE 116th Street. From 108th Ave NE take a right turn into McAuliffe Park. Park near the buildings on your left or in the Drive past the buildings in the dead end. Walk back out of the entrance and across the street to the fenced area - this is the native plant nursery within the maintenance yard.
This event is not suitable for those under 16. If you are under the age of 18, then you must bring a waiver signed by a parent or guardian to the event with you. Download the Green Kirkland Youth Volunteer Waiver.
