What is a Green Kirkland Steward?

Green Kirkland Stewards are trained volunteers who take a leadership role in the restoration activities of a City-owned natural area park. These volunteers are given the training and support needed to conduct ongoing restoration and lead their own volunteer events.

Green Kirkland Stewards have different backgrounds but are united by a desire to get themselves and their communities involved in stewardship of urban forests and natural areas. Stewards give time to their parks as their lives allow and we have options to match your interests.

Support Stewards can serve independently at their sites with direction from staff or lead stewards. Lead Stewards receive additional training to supervise other volunteers and lead events. Many host events monthly  and some even host every week!
