Join the Green Kirkland Partnership to help with the restoration of O. O. Denny Park. Volunteers will spend the morning participating in restoration activities which may include removing non-native invasive plants like English ivy and Himalayan blackberry, spreading mulch over cleared areas, and planting native trees, shrubs and ground covers. No experience necessary!
This event will be led by volunteer Green Kirkland Steward Dave.

Due to site conditions this event is not suitable for unaccompanied volunteers younger than 18 years old. Those under age 18 are welcome to attend with an adult.
Green Kirkland does have many other events open to those under 18 and with no experience needed - please visit the event calendar for other options.

Where to meet/park:
During Jan - April 22nd, 2019 this event will meet beyond the main north parking lot at the northwest corner of the park at the intersection of 68th Ave NE and Holmes Point Drive. Street parking is available in the bumpout on the lakeside of this intersection near the stop sign. SEE MAP BELOW and the event info sheet (pdf).
Starting on April 29th, 2019 this event will meet at the picnic table just above the eastern parking lot. This parking lot is the only non-lakeside lot and is near the entrance to the 'Denny Creek Trailhead' which leads uphill to the northeast.

What to Bring:
Dress for the weather (layers are encouraged and rain gear is a must most times of year), wear close-toed shoes and clothes that you don't mind getting dirty. Bring a filled water bottle and snacks to munch on. Tools and training will be provided.
