WHAT: The City of Kirkland and King County Metro plan to begin construction in late June on a project aimed at saving time for all travelers, including transit-riders, on Northeast 124th Street and 100th Avenue Northeast.

The project is adding a second left turn-lane from westbound Northeast 124th Street onto southbound 100th Avenue Northeast.

A second left turn-lane will save 10 person-hours for the 700 to 1,000 transit-riders who commute via transit through the intersection.

WHAT TO EXPECT: Commuters should expect travel delays while crews are in the roadway.

  • The City expects contractors to complete the work within one week.
