WHATA City of Kirkland contractor will start in mid-August installing medians, re-striping bicycle lanes and rebuilding a pair of sidewalk curb ramps along Bridle Trails’ 122nd Avenue Northeast.

Along with the medians and bicycle lanes, NPM Construction will move the curb line in the northbound lane near Northeast 68th Place and Northeast 65th Street. The project will establish four 25 mile-per-hour pavement markings along the corridor.

And it will remove a catch-basin in the middle of the bicycle lane, near Northeast 65th Street.

The traffic calming project is a collaborative effort between the City of Kirkland and the South Rose Hill and Bridle Trails Neighborhood Association to reduce vehicular speeds along the street.

WHEN: NPM Construction plans to begin construction in mid-August and to finish by October. The contractor will work eight hours a day, between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m.

WHAT TO EXPECT: Drivers should expect minor traffic delays along 122nd Avenue Northeast.

  • A bicycle lane may be obstructed temporarily with the contractor’s staged equipment.
