Update (Nov. 24, 2021) -- A Kirkland contractor made progress last week on a City project aimed at reducing the incidence of excessive speeding along 122nd Avenue Northeast.
NPM Construction established travel lanes at the street’s intersections with Northeast 68th Place and Northeast 65th Street.
The cool weather, however, prevented NPM’s crews from establishing the 25 mile per hour street markings and the candlestick-style delineators. To establish the street markings and the delineators, the street needs to be dry and the ambient air temperature needs to be at least 43 degrees.
NPM plans to establish those traffic-calming devices as soon as conditions allow.
The project’s progress has been stymied by labor-shortages, material-shortages and weather.
