Apply for a Recreation Scholarship

Are you a Kirkland resident who wants to apply for a Recreation Scholarship? You're in the right place.

Step 1.Understand the requirements 

  • Recreation Scholarships are available to Kirkland residents only.
  • Review Income/Household Eligibility Guidelines.
  • Must be willing to provide income verification documents.
  • Submission of this Scholarship Form does not reserve a space or register the participant into their requested program automatically.
  • If the scholarship is approved, the balance of the program fee is due at the time of registration.
  • Scholarship Form including verification of income documents are processed in the order received.

Step 2.Gather information needed to apply

  • Do you know what class you are interested in registering for? Visit our registration website www.kirklandparks.net and note down the class name, 5 digit course code and the date class begins.
  • Gather any documents needed for income verification, preferably your most recent signed 1040 Tax return.

Step 3.Complete the Recreation Scholarship Form

Step 4.Submit verification of income documents

  • Once you've completed and submitted the online form, send us your most recent signed 1040 Tax return.
  • An SSA-1099 form is acceptable if receiving Social Security.
  • Please cross out any sensitive information including social security numbers.
  • Email eParks@kirklandwa.gov.

Step 5.We will contact you

  • Staff will review your completed Scholarship Form and verification of income documents.
  • We will contact you within two business days after receipt of all information.

 A Recreation Scholarship Form can not be filled out or submitted by phone.  If you'd like to request a paper application be mailed to you at your home address, please give our office a call at 425-587-3330. Step 4.Hand-deliver verification of income documents

  • Hand-deliver the completed Form, if available, along with your most recent signed 1040 Tax return to one of the three locations below during regular business hours (Monday - Friday, 8 A.M. - 5 P.M.). An SSA-1099 form is acceptable if receiving Social Security. Please cross out any sensitive information including social security numbers.
