Community Resource Specialist Consultation

Services include:

* Help connecting individuals to public benefits they may be eligible for

* Support completion of application materials to access benefits such as VA benefits, DSHS assistance, public utilities, food assistance, property tax relief, etc.

* Makes direct referrals to other resources for assistance

* Serves as an advocate for individuals as needed

This web-based service assists seniors, their families and caregivers find the right benefits program to meet their needs. It is a fast, free and confidential screening tool to help determine eligibility for nearly 1,000 unique state and federal programs. Attorney General’s Consumer Protection

Clearpoint Financial Services 

Provides counseling, money management help, advice on debt reduction and the wise use of credit. Call 1-800-750-2227 for more information.

 

Property Tax Exemption Program

Did you know that state law provides a tax benefit program for senior citizens and disabled veterans? To receive a property tax exemption, a taxpayer must be age 61+, own and occupy their residence and have an annual income that does not exceed $58,423. Legal Services

Eastside Legal Assistance Program

ELAP, a non-profit legal service provides lawyers to answer your legal questions at no cost from 2 PM to 4 PM on Fridays, at the Peter Kirk Community Center.  To qualify and make an appointment, call 425-747-7274

 

Wills Project

Are you worried about being kept on life support against your will? Should your loved ones have to go to court to take care of you? A volunteer attorney through the Eastside Legal Assistance Program  will prepare simple wills, durable power of attorney for health care decisions and living wills. Clients must meet eligibility guidelines, for more information call 425-747-7274

 

Senior Rights Assistance

This volunteer program provides free information, referrals and support on health insurance, legal and consumer issues. They also sponsor the Elder law legal clinic with the Washington Bar Association. For more information call 1-800-972-9990 or email SRA@soundgenerations.org
