Volunteer Calendar and Registration

Welcome Volunteers!

Green Kirkland volunteer stewardship events are happening at a park near you in 2023!

Opportunities to volunteer are posted on our event calendar as they become available.

Visit our About Volunteering page for details about what to expect at an event and the current safety guidelines.

Join the Green Kirkland Steward team!

Did you know that a fun and dedicated team of 50+ super volunteers called Green Kirkland Stewards help engage our community in the restoration of over 500 acres of natural parkland in Kirkland?

Stewards bring a diversity of interests, skill, and time to our parks in this long-term, ongoing role. We encourage all that are interested to attend new Steward orientation. Orientation is free, open to the public, and is a blend of online and in-person sessions.

The next new Steward orientation will be in March 2024.

Sign-up for monthly Green Kirkland e-newsletter to stay informed on the timing of the next orientation.

To learn more about the Steward role visit the Ongoing Volunteer Roles page under About Volunteering.

Summer Watering Volunteers

Thanks to all summer watering volunteers who helped nurture native plants in the natural forested areas of Kirkland’s parks this past summer.

The summer watering role opens again in May of 2024.

Volunteers in this role commit to serving 1 -2 hours per week, during most weeks June through August on their own time and schedule.

Visit the Green Kirkland Summer Watering Role webpage for more details.

2022 Accomplishments

Thank you for contributing to the Green Kirkland Partnership in 2022!

Over 1,500 volunteers contributed over 7,300 hours in our forests and natural areas in 2022. Special thanks to the 48 Green Kirkland Stewards who led over 150 stewardship events. Volunteers, Parks staff, and contractors planted 9,144 native plants and enrolled 16 new acres into restoration across 35 active park sites. Our total acreage enrolled in restoration is now 315 of the 513 acres of natural area parkland.

With your help we’re making our forests and park spaces heathier every year!
