What: The Willows Road Regional Trail Connection completes a gap in King County’s regional trail network, progressing toward a more complete network that connects the Totem Lake and Redmond urban centers, the Woodinville Wine Country and the Willows Road high-tech corridor.

Kirkland is working with King County on plans to remove the rails and build an interim trail along Eastrail from the Cross Kirkland Corridor at 132nd Avenue Northeast to Willows Road. Redmond is seeking funding to complete the third and final phase of the Redmond Central Connector along the east side of Willows Road from Northeast 124th Street to Northeast 100th Street--where Phase II ends.

Where: The connection follows the east side of Willows Road from Eastrail down to Northeast 124th Street. This project will also establish future pedestrian and bicycle facilities along 139th Avenue Northeast from Eastrail to the existing sidewalk and bike lane on 139th Avenue Northeast. This section is not yet scheduled for construction.

When: Complete.
