South Rose Hill 124th Avenue 2005 Aerial Photo  l  Site Analysis

The City of Kirkland Parks and Community Services Department is developing a neighborhood park on the 4-acre park site located just south of NE 85th Street.  Construction began in May and will continue through autumn of 2009.

Major features of the project include construction of trails, a children's play area, a picnic shelter, lawn areas, benches, native vegetation plantings, an irrigation system, fencing, and miscellaneous site enhancements. 

The City is planning on making street improvements along 124th Avenue N.E. in the future.

Two public workshops were held.  Schematic design alternatives and citizen park name suggestions were presented to the Park Board fall of 2006. The Park Board's recommendation for the park plan and a new park name was presented to the City Council in January of 2007.
