    The Park Planning and Development Division is responsible for park master planning and facility design, land acquisition, capital projects and construction management, grant preparation, and long range strategic policy planning for Parks.

  • Edith Moulton Park Master Planning Project
    Funding for master planning and improvements for Edith Moulton Park comes from the voter-approved 2012 Kirkland Parks Levy.
  • Forbes Lake Trail and Park Improvements Project
    The primary goal for the Forbes Lake Park and Trail Project is to provide public pedestrian access and viewing/interpretive opportunities to Forbes Lake.
  • Juanita Beach Master Plan
    The City of Kirkland completed its first phase of implementing the Juanita Beach Park Master Plan in September of 2011
  • Juanita Beach Park Bathhouse Replacement Project
    The Department of Parks and Community Services will be working to design and construct a new bathhouse building at Juanita Beach Park beginning in 2016.
  • McAuliffe Park Master Plan
    In November 2014, the City Council approved an agreement between the City and Seattle Tilth that will bring an Urban Farm to the Park and offer Master Recycling Composter trainings, organic gardening courses, cooking and nutrition programming, urban farming and connections with the Edible Kirkland and Kirkland Nourishing Network programs.
  • Park, Recreation, and Open Space (PROS) Plan Update
    This Parks, Recreation and Open Space Plan is a six-year guide and strategic plan for managing and enhancing park and recreation services in Kirkland.
  • Totem Lake Park Master Plan
    The Totem Lake Park Master Plan was adopted by the City Council on December 10, 2013. The City will implement the plan over time as funding becomes available.
  • Waverly Beach Park Renovation Project
    The Parks and Community Services Department is finalizing a long-range renovation and improvement plan for Waverly Beach Park.
