Bob Sternoff has lived in Kirkland since 1981 and has served on the City Council since December 13, 2005. Bob earned a B.A. in Speech Communications from the University of Washington.
Current committee assignments: Chair of the Public Safety Committee and member of Economic Development Committee.
Regional representation: Suburban Cities Association Board Member, Chair, Suburban Cities Association's Caucus to the Growth Management Planning Council, Vice Chair, Suburban Cities Caucus to the Puget Sound Regional Council Growth Management Planning Board, Chair, Suburban Cities Association Caucus to Enterprise Seattle, Vice Chair, Regional Transit Committee for Suburban Cities Association Caucus, Executive Board Member of Puget Sound Regional Council (PSRC), PSRC Transportation 2040 Prioritization Working Group Member, PSRC Operations Committee, Alternate, King County School Siting Task Force, and Norcom.
About Council Member Sternoff: Prior to serving on the Council, Bob Sternoff served 8 years on the Kirkland Park Board including 3 terms as Chair. He also was a founding member of the Downtown Action Team where he served as Vice Chair of the Executive Committee, Chair of the Parking Subcommittee and Vice Chair of the Lakeshore Plaza Design and Development Sub-Committee. Council Member Sternoff has also served as a member of the Juanita Beach Advisory Committee, Skate Board Park Committee and 2002 Park Bond Steering Committee and chaired the Annexation Sub-Committee.
Council Member Sternoff owns and manages several diversified Real Estate development companies that have won numerous awards for design excellence. His previous work experience includes over 10 years in national and international transportation and technology.
He is involved in numerous children’s charities and civic organizations.
