The City of Kirkland appreciates all the dedicated volunteers who take time out of their busy lives to give back to their community and enhance their natural resources. Below are ways you can make a difference:
Storm Drain Marking (PDF) - The City needs volunteers to place markers next to storm drains to remind people to put "Only Rain Down the Drain." This activity is best for the late spring and summer. Markers must be placed during warm, dry conditions in order for the adhesive to set properly.
Adopt a Storm Drain - Adopt a storm drain and protect your neighborhood from flooding by keeping your drain clear of leaves.
Green Kirkland Partnership - Take care of Kirkland’s forests and streamside habitat. Projects occur at different parks around the city throughout the year.
Salmon Watcher Program- Monitor local streams for salmon returning in the fall, visiting a site for 15 minutes twice a week from September through December. Attend a two-hour training.
