What's Happening Now

December 9, 2011, Kirkland Council Considers Purchase of Rail Corridor at December 12 Meeting. “Kirkland Segment” from 108th Avenue NE north to Slater Avenue proposed for purchase.

April 19, 2011, Corridor Interest Statement Approved by City Council. The Kirkland City Council unaimously approved the Final Interest Statement(pdf) proposed by the Transportation Commission.  

February 4, Seattle Times Article, Eastside Railway's Creditors Seek Reorganization

On January 18, the City Council directed the Transportation Commission to move forward with public outreach on a Draft Interest Statement.  Materials from the meeting area available online.  You can also view video of the meeting.  Use the "Jump to..." pull-down menu to access the discussion and go to item 10b.

At the same meeting, Mr. Doug Ingle, CFO of GNP Railroad offered comments under items from the audience.  You can view the video of the comments.  Use the "Jump to..." pull-down menu and go to item 6b.   Mr. Ingle's comments begin at 1:05:30.

On January 26, the Transportation Commission met and discussed an outreach plan for the Draft Interest Statement.  That plan includes the meetings and the survey described above.
