Sidewalk Maintenance and Access

Click on the above image to view project information related to each sidewalk highlighted in the above maps.

A City of Kirkland contractor begins repairs late March on seven sidewalk access ramps and sections in Central Houghton, Bridle Trails, Moss Bay, Juanita Norkirk and North Rose Hill. Those sidewalks include sections of 103rd, 110th, 125th and 130th avenues northeast, as well as Sixth Street, State Street and 97th Place Northeast.
The repairs will ensure that the school walk routes are accessible to people of all abilities and are thus compliant with the Americans with Disabilities Act.
Construction begins early spring and will continue into June. The contractor will work between 7 a.m. and 6 p.m., Monday through Friday.
The contractor will provide access for students, local residents, mail delivery, garbage pick-up and emergency vehicles. Some residents’ driveways will be inaccessible while C.A. Carey, the contractor, removes and reconstructs the driveways.
