Kirkland’s environmental stewards will participate in a planting event this fall at the Cross Kirkland Corridor’s intersection with Seventh Avenue. There, the City of Kirkland and King County are building a 720-square-foot rain garden that will help protect Lake Washington from pollutants carried into it by stormwater runoff.
A $78,000 grant from King County is funding construction, which lasts from June to August.
