GLOSSARY

PED/BIKE: Refers to projects that improve transportation infrastructure for walking or bicycling. These projects can include street paving, which can create new--or improve existing--bicycle lanes.

STREET: Refers to projects that improve the functionality of existing streets, such as overlay (repaving) or slurry seal projects.

INTERSECTION: Refers to projects that improve traffic flow, most often with intersection improvements. These projects can include traffic signal upgrades to Intelligent Transportation Systems technology or adding turn-lanes at intersections.

SEWER: Refers to projects that add life or capacity to sewer systems.

PARK: Refers to projects aimed at improving safety or the public's experience at any of the City of Kirkland's parks.

STORM DRAIN: Refers to projects aimed at mitigating stormwater runoff caused by impervious surfaces, such as sidewalk, parking lots and roofs.

WATER: Refers to projects that add life or capacity to water systems.
