Kingsgate |
I am a Principal Transportation Planner with the City of Redmond where I work on many different aspects of the transportation system. I am involved in developing and implementing the City's multimodal transportation plan and ensuring that it supports the City's community vision. I have also served as chair of the Regional Bicycle and Pedestrian Advisory Committee at the Puget Sound Regional Council and chair of the Intelligent Transportation Society of Washington.
I grew up in Bellingham and moved to Kirkland in 1995 shortly after earning my planning degree from Western Washington University. My wife and I liked the Kirkland area so much that we bought a home in the Kingsgate neighborhood in 1996 and have been there ever since. I want to help Kirkland create a transportation system that is well maintained and enables people of all ages and abilities to get to where they want to go safely and efficiently. The transportation system should also enhance our communities quality of life and economic vitality. I feel it is important to move forward with implementation and this should be guided by City policy and plans. (Return to KTC Page)

Currently with the City of Bellevue Transportation Department. Nine years experience in development review, transportation engineering and transportation planning. Total approximately 26 years experience in transportation with several cities and counties with work in these areas: Concurrency, SEPA, modeling, traffic engineering standards, grant writing, paratransit and rideshare service, ADA, inter-jurisdictional liaison and comprehensive planning. I have Master's degree in Urban Planning plus numerous short courses in transportation engineering.
I like Kirkland and I want to use my broad experience to help Kirkland continue to improve its multimodal transportation system in an attractive manner as the city grows. I have ideas for bike lanes, trails, and transit as well as ideas for traffic improvements. In the annexation area, I saw King County do some transportation work that I consider to be substandard and I want to help avoid such problems in the future. (Return to KTC Page)

Market |
I work for Microsoft, leading the windows networking group. I am a daily rider of Metro, transiting daily through the Kirkland transit center. I chaired the Market Street access task force a community sponsored group seeking ways to reduce the traffic load and increase safety in the Market Street corridor.
With the rapid growth in Kirkland, I am very interested in ensuring that we move toward a balanced, forward-looking strategy that tries to get us ahead of the traffic log-jams. Additionally I see a need for the Commission to have solid representation from the Market neighborhood which has unique needs and interests. (Return to KTC Page)

Norkirk |
I'm currently the Transportation Division Manager in the Parametrix Bellevue office. My professional background is in transportation planning and engineering and I've led major transit, non-motorized facility, and highway planning projects over the last 30 years. I very much enjoy the challenge of working in a highly public environment with multiple stakeholders to implement balanced transportation infrastructure solutions.
I have lived in Kirkland since 1985, and currently reside in the Norkirk area. I commend Kirkland's elected officials, staff and Commission members for their forward looking views on transportation. I look forward to working with everyone to provide safe mobility options for Kirkland residents to walk, bike, ride transit, and drive throughout the City. (Return to KTC Page)
