In 2007 the City Council requested that the Parking Advisory Board (PAB) discover how people felt about parking in downtown Kirkland. The Parking Advisory Board commissioned two different surveys which were distributed to public parkers and downtown merchants and owners respectively. In October and November of 2007, Opinion Research Northwest consultants distributed, gathered and cross-tabulated the survey distributed to the public parkers. The merchants and owners survey was distributed and tabulated by the City of Kirkland Public Works staff. The Parking Advisory Board reviewed all of the data and drew conclusions based on this information. The PAB wrote an initial recommendation for the City Council and followed up with revised recommendations for the December 2007 study session. The documents below include both parking surveys, cross tabulations of the results, respondent's comments, comparative graphs and the Parking Advisory Board's recommendations to the City Council.
