December 21, 2011 Project Update: The City's contractor, Sanders Construction, will begin construction in early January 2012. For traffic updates, call the construction hotline at 425-587-3838.
Project Overview: This project will install a westbound to northbound right turn lane and other improvements identified as a part of Sound Transit's route improvements. These improvements will reduce congestion and allow the intersection to maintain the City's desired level of service. Sidewalk and curb enhancements at all four corners of the intersection will improve pedestrian safety and maintain a safe school walk route.
What to Expect: During construction, there may be inconvenience associated with driving through the work zone; traffic control and flagging operations will be in effect. Emergency vehicle access will be maintained throughout the construction process. The contractor is required to back fill and/or cover their work at the end of each day so there will be no open trenches left over night.
Timeline: Intersection and signal improvements are scheduled to begin in early January 2012. The project is expected to be complete by early summer. |
