How to Apply:
All City of Kirkland jobs are posted on the web at GovJobsToday.com. Candidates are able to create a free, secure applicant account and apply online instantly. You can view screening status of positions that you have applied for by logging into your account in GovJobsToday.com and clicking on the Job Applications tab.
Resumes and/or application materials submitted in person or via email will NOT be accepted.
Applications for Firefighters, Police Officers, Corrections Officers and Dispatchers are accepted at PublicSafetyTesting.com where candidates can complete an application online and select a testing date for written and physical ability examinations.
Generally, the entire application process from the time of application screening to the job offer takes approximately 4 to 5 weeks.
Many, but not all, positions require job related testing prior to conducting interviews. If you are invited to test, we will contact you by email with the test details.
If you are selected to interview we will contact you by phone or email.
Pursuant to RCW 10.97, all finalists for positions are required to complete an authorization for the City of Kirkland to conduct a criminal history check. This may include additional fingerprint-based checks if deemed necessary to obtain the appropriate clearance for the position for which you are applying. Note: A conviction record will not necessarily disqualify you for employment unless such a record would reasonably affect your fitness for the job for which you have applied.
Persons with a disability who need assistance in the application process, or those needing an application in an alternative format, please call (425) 587-3210 or Telecommunications Device for the Deaf (425) 587-3111.
