The Training Division of the Kirkland Fire Department works closely with the Bellevue, Mercer Island, and Redmond Fire Departments to provide continuous operational training on a variety of subjects. Fire behavior, ventilation, search and rescue in structures, driver/operator, and hose deployment are but a few of the topics covered.
Trench rescue, confined space rescue, rope rescue (high and low), structural collapse rescue, near shore water rescue, hazardous materials response, and vehicle extrication are covered both locally and regionally with other departments throughout northeast King County.
Emergency medical training is coordinated with the Seattle/King County Department of Public Health's EMS division and the Northeast King County Medic Consortium paramedics headquartered in Redmond, Washington.
