Where do I get my driver's license?

The City of Kirkland does not issue driver licenses. Washington State Driver's Licenses are issued by the Department of Licensing. On September 26, 2009 the Kirkland DOL office, located in the Houghton Village Shopping Center at 10639 NE 68th Street will close.

Where do I get my vehicle license?

The City of Kirkland does not issue vehicle licenses. Vehicle license tabs are available from the Lee Johnson's Agency on Rose Hill, located at 12012 NE 85th Street. This is across the street from Lee Johnson Chevrolet auto dealer, in the shopping center with the Outback Steakhouse. Their telephone number is 425-828-4661. Information about vehicle licenses, registrations, and titles is also available on the Department of Licensing web site. Vehicles coming from another state may need an inspection. Where do I get my vehicle emissions tested?

The City of Kirkland does not perform vehicle emissions tests. In designated counties (including King County), Washington State law requires periodic emissions testing prior to renewing vehicle licenses. Emissions testing also may be required if you bring a car into King County from a county where testing isn't required or from out of state. If your vehicle is due for testing, it will be noted on your renewal notice. Where are marriage licenses issued?
