Meet Kurt Triplett, Kirkland's City Manager
Kurt was hired as the 4th City Manager for the City of Kirkland in June, 2010. Prior to Kirkland, he served at King County for 17 years as Executive, Chief of Staff, Deputy Director of the Department of Natural Resources and Parks, and Deputy Chief of Staff.
Kurt is committed to keeping Kirkland the exceptional city that it is and keeping the quality of life it has. His top priorities include making the annexation of the Finn Hill, North Juanita and Kingsgate areas transition smoothly, finding innovative ways to create jobs and growth, and bringing outside financial resources to help weather the economic downturn. He believes Kirkland has a once-in-a-generation chance to fashion the portion of the Eastside Rail Corridor as a national example of sustainability and livability.
As City Manager, Kurt administers and manages the City according to the mission, policies and guidelines adopted by the City Council. He oversees the operations of ten departments and is the director of the City Manager’s Office (CMO). CMO programs include neighborhood services, legislative advocacy, council relations, economic development, public information, tourism and the volunteer program.
Kurt has a Master’s Degree in Public Administration from Harvard University Kennedy School of Government and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Stanford University.
