Parking Advisory Board Youth Vacancy
The City of Kirkland is seeking applicants to fill one youth-specific seat on the Parking Advisory Board. The youth member must be a resident of Kirkland or Kirkland’s annexation area and be a Sophomore or Junior by September of the year of appointment. The appointment is made by the City Council and is for a two year term ending March 31, 2013. Board members do not receive any compensation for their services.
The role of the eight-member Parking Advisory Board is to advise the City Council regarding those parking issues referred to them by the City Council. The Board assists the Parking Coordinator in the implementation of the parking management plan; reviews parking issues over time; and advises the City Council on strategy implementation based on the “Parking Guidelines for Downtown Kirkland.” The Commission also submits to the City Council, through the City Manager, recommendations for such other parking issues of interest to the Board, or associated with Council-directed items, as the Board feels is advisable. The PAB currently meets the first Thursday of every month at 7:30 a.m.
