• Stock emergency supplies and assemble a 3 Day Kit:

  at home, at work & in all your cars

  rotate supplies every six months

• Establish an out of state contact.
• Have an evacuation plan and meeting places.
• Attach heavy furniture, mirrors, & pictures to wall.
• Strap down your water heater.
• Take first aid & CPR classes.
• Identify safe spots in your home and at work.
• Check for adequate insurance coverage.
• Locate electric box, water, and gas main:
  • know how and when to turn off these
  • keep a wrench next to the gage meter
• Install a smoke detector on each level of your home near bedrooms & test monthly.
• Know how to use a fire extinguishers.
