The Department of Parks and Community Services strives to enrich and enhance Kirkland’s quality of living. The Department sensitively and efficiently manages Kirkland’s diverse public lands, actively responds to the leisure needs of all residents, and effectively leads a collaborative community response to essential human services. We strive for excellence. We project a positive and enthusiastic attitude. We are accountable for our actions and value the needs and concerns of the public, co-workers, institutions, and other agencies.

Kirkland’s first off-leash dog area is now open! KDOG is an all-volunteer, non-profit organization partnering with the City of Kirkland on the development of a 2 acre section of Heronfield Wetlands. They have chosen Jasper’s Dog Park for the official name. It is located at the intersection of NE 120th St & 113th Ave NE. (street parking only)

Juanita Bay Wildlife Tours Join the Juanita Bay Park Volunteer Ranger for a free interpretive tour on the first Sunday of every month at 1:00p.m.
Dates: Feb. 6th & March 6th
Location: 2201 Market Street (meet in the parking lot)
Juanita Bay Park Bird Walks Join a park ranger for a relaxed morning walk, looking for birds in the area.
Dates: Feb. 15th & March 15th
Time: 9:00 a.m.
