The construction of planned improvements for the intersection at NE 68^th Street and 108^th Avenue NE in the Houghton neighborhood are expected to begin January 9, 2012 and to be complete this summer. The City’s contractor, Sanders Construction, will be building a new westbound to northbound right turn lane on 68^th and modify turning radiuses at all corners of the intersection to improve right turn movements. Additionally, sidewalks and curb enhancements will be made at all four corners to improve pedestrian safety and safe school walk routes. Construction hours will be Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. with traffic related restrictions to occur between 9 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. to minimize peak hour impacts.
