Extreme traffic congestion due to road closure as Police investigate early morning fatality

Kirkland, WA – Drivers are encouraged to avoid the area near the 124^th Street/132^nd Avenue NE intersection in Kirkland’s Totem Lake neighborhood. Extreme traffic congestion is occurring in the area due an early morning fatal traffic collision. The intersection is closed as the Police Department’s Traffic Investigation Unit continues its investigation. Drivers are encouraged to use alternate routes, including NE 85^th Street/Central Way. It is anticipated that the intersection will reopen sometime around 11 a.m. The intersection is east of I-405 and traffic congestion is occurring particularly in the eastbound direction along 124^th Street from 100^th Avenue to 132^nd Avenue.
