KIRKLAND, Wash. – Commuters should expect traffic delays due to the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) Walks Washington event to be held at Marina Park on Saturday, June 3. A route map is posted online at www.kirklandwa.gov/specialevents. Traffic impacts will include the following:
- Kirkland Avenue west of Lake Street will be closed to traffic from 5:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m.
- Southbound lane of Lake Street S between Kirkland Avenue and 2nd Avenue S will be closed to traffic from 9:00 a.m. until approximately 11:00 a.m.
- Heavy pedestrian traffic along Lake Street S and Lake Washington Boulevard from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m.
Event organizers expect 1,000 attendees will participate in the event which raises money for mental health support and awareness.
