KIRKLAND, Wash. – Commuters should expect traffic delays due to the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) Walks Washington event to be held at Marina Park on Saturday, June 4. Increased pedestrian traffic is expected along Lake Street S and Lake Washington Boulevard from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. A course map is posted online at www.kirklandwa.gov/specialevents. The southbound lane of Lake Street S between Kirkland Avenue and 2nd Avenue S will be closed to traffic from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. Kirkland Avenue, west of Lake Street, will be closed to traffic from 6:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m.
Event organizers expect 1,000 attendees will participate in the event which raises money for mental health support and awareness.
