KIRKLAND, Wash. – The Kirkland Police and Fire Departments will be visiting Kirkland neighborhoods to participate in the 34th annual National Night Out Against Crime on Tuesday, August 1st. The list of scheduled neighborhood gatherings can be found on the City website.
National Night Out is a nationwide campaign aimed at involving communities in crime and drug prevention awareness. Kirkland residents are encouraged to get together with neighbors and friends to plan neighborhood events. Activities that neighborhoods may want to host include cookouts, flashlight walks, community conversations or contests.
Neighborhood groups can register their event with the City by filling out the Neighborhood Block Party Permit Application PDF. Block party fees will be waived for National Night Out events held on August 1, 2017. Members of City Council and first responders from the Kirkland Police and Fire Departments will be attending registered community events between 6 p.m. and 9 p.m.
