KIRKLAND, Wash. – On July 16, 2015 at 2:43 a.m., Kirkland Police officers responded to a report of a suspicious vehicle in the apartment complex located in the 13100 block of NE 120th Lane (Totem Lake Neighborhood).  A resident of the apartment complex reported seeing a male throwing documents and credit cards from the vehicle and driving throughout the complex. Officers contacted a male sitting in the drivers’ seat of the running vehicle.  The male refused to exit the vehicle or comply with officers’ commands and upon contact drove out of the complex at a high rate of speed.  Police spike strips were utilized and the vehicle continued to drive away from officers, coming to a stop after the tires deteriorated to just the rims due to the successful spike strip deployment.  The driver fled on foot and was apprehended by Kirkland K-9 Thor. Kirkland residents are encouraged to report suspicious activity and car prowls to the police by calling 9-1-1. For more information about the investigation please contact Sgt. Lisa Brouelette, Kirkland Police Department, at Lbrouelette@kirklandwa.gov or 425-864-0396.
