KIRKLAND, Wash. –
Commuters should expect traffic delays due to the Lake Washington Half Marathon and
5K run to be held at Juanita Beach Park on Saturday, November 5, 2016. A course map is posted online at www.kirklandwa.gov/specialevents
. The beach parking lot and eastbound NE Juanita Drive from 93rd Avenue NE to 98th Avenue NE will be closed with detour in place from 7 a.m. until approximately noon. Southbound lanes of 98th Avenue NE from NE Juanita Drive to Forbes Creek Drive will close temporarily at 7:30 a.m. for approximately 10 minutes during start of race. Additional course impacts will include traffic delays from approximately 7:30 a.m. until noon.
Event organizers expect 1,000 athletes will participate in the event which benefits Cascade Leadership Challenge. The non-profit organization is dedicated to providing leadership and outdoor adventure opportunities for young adults ages 14-25.
