Help on Basic and Advanced Searching

Basic Search:
This is intended for title searching using one or more terms.  Simply type each word placing a space between them and then click the search button to execute the search.  If you don't receive the expected results, click on Advanced Search Options to gain access to more ways of searching these documents.

Wildcards:
Using the * as a wildcard will broaden your search abilities.  For example, entering Levy* will return any entries with either Levy or Levying in the title.

Advanced Searching:
Use this search to build more complex searches.  For example, you can do a title word search for Levy* "and" a Title word search for Property* to further narrow your search.  Using the "or" option will make your search broader as it will look for those items which fall in either the date range or have the title word.

Date Range Searching:
Using the advanced search, it is possible to search on a range of dates.  Select the criteria you wish to search and enter your beginning and ending dates separated with a comma.  For example, to search dates in 2007 you would enter 1/1/2007, 12/31/2007.   First Appearance, Final Appearance, Amended Date and Repealed Date are all date fields.

Description of Search Terms:
